Comprehensive Pediatric Learning

PaedsPREP is a comprehensive virtual learning platform, to guide revision for the
MRCPCH clinical examination. It provides candidates with the tools to ‘hit the ground
running’ from a revision point of view, by signposting useful resources and detailing
important experiential exam tips. Additionally, it highlights high-yield topics to be
covered in personal revision, and provides a number of practice scenarios with
supporting audiovisuals to corroborate learning.

About PAEDSPREP

PaedsPREP is a personal and self-funded venture, born out of my
passion for medical education and motivation to make the process of
revision smooth for my fellow paediatric colleagues.

Suggested TextBook Revision Resources

There are number of revision resources available for the MRCPH clinical exam.
The following are four that are commonly used and particularly useful.

Overall:
PasTest MRCPCH Clinical Short Cases, History Taking and Communication
Skills: Short Cases, History Taking & Communication Skills – Simon Bedwani
Blurb:

A must-have revision guide, with over 100 cases to facilitate scenario-based practice for all five of the MRCPCH exam stations. I found this to be the most useful textbook!

Short Clinical:
Short Cases for the MRCPCH – Angela Thomson
Blurb:
A useful book providing a structured approach to examining over 100 common paediatric conditions. Usefully, this book possess questions which could be asked by the examiner, followed by answers to guide revision.

Communication:
Communication Scenarios for the MRCPCH and DCH Clinical Exams (MasterPass) – Rebecca Casans
Blurb:
Another excellent resource to practice communication scenarios with a partner. The book is split into the various categories of communication stations (breaking bad news, ethics, giving information etc), and importantly provides a structured answer for each scenario to guide revision.

All Stations
Circuits for the MRCPCH (MRCPCH Study Guides) – Damian Rolad
Blurb:
A useful book to practice mock circuits with a study buddy – circuits cover all 5 exam stations, along with answers and an explanation for each scenario.

Honoured with the PEdSIG Education Grant!

Feedback from Our PaedsPrep Champs

Fadila

I wanted to express my gratitude for your assistance in my Clinical exam preparation. Thanks to your recommendation of paedsprep, I passed the exam! As an IMG, new to the UK, I initially felt overwhelmed and unprepared. Paedsprep proved invaluable, especially in history and development stations. Kudos for this amazing initiative!
